There is an expression sometimes used in yoga called "the beginner's mind". It refers to the way one approaches something new. I love this idea of beginner's mind because it brings you back to the basics, the starting point, the eye's wide open and excited way that we learn something we have never done before. As I start a new 5 week series yoga class on Thursday afternoons, that is exactly what comes to my mind as we moved through our lovely practice. Starting with the basic moves such as Tadasana and Utanasana and then eventually moving into a series of Sun Salutations.
